Sarasota timeshares might be a great alternative to renting a motel or hotel room. Florida timeshares are pretty valuable commodities though and finding one for sell rather than for rent might be a little harder. Don’t wait until peak season when all of the college kids are descending on the sunshine state to try to get a real estate agent to return your calls.

The best approach is to really do some research and define your own needs. Sarasota timeshares are located just off of U.S. Interstate 75 which makes them extremely accessible. Cold weather escapees from as far as Michigan and Canada can quickly make their way to I-75 and not even ask for directions until they arrive in Sarasota over 1,000 miles away. This of course is the gulf coast of Florida and is considered to be the less hectic side of this very popular vacation/retirement state.

This is the best thing to remember about Florida timeshares: east coast crowds/congestion; west coast relaxed/less population density. The other things to remember are that the gulf coast is accessible to shell gathering beaches whereas the east coast beaches have fewer of these. A lot of people are really disappointed to find that they can’t find shells when they visit Florida. It may seem like a minor detail since every store in the state seems to sell shells. But part of the fantasy of vacationing in a tropical location is that beach combing will yield more than jelly fish.

A couple of places to look for these are Sanibel Island and Shell Island. Other Gulf coast destinations include Clearwater and Cedar Key. Obviously Sarasota’s proximity to Tampa Bay is a boon for nature lovers because of its two national wildlife refuges. Over 200 species of fish and 25 kinds of birds are found in this estuary. Additionally manatees winter in these waters. The Sarasota timeshares will turn visits to these popular side trips pleasant excursions attracting the “beach bum for a week every year” crowd.
