Having separation anxiety year after year when dropping off your best friend at that canine camp while you travel to a restful but lonely destination? It doesn’t have to be that way. But few states boast the more than 100 dog friendly hotels found in the enlightened state of Virginia. What’s worse is that even though hotel chains like Choice Hotels advertise extensive availability of pet friendly rooms these aren’t always located where you want to vacation. For those who would want to take a furry friend every year there really is no housing option as reliably available as a time share. Furthermore, although the dog and owner accommodations at the Hotel Telluride in Telluride, Colorado are innovative there’s no way to ensure constant annual rates or guaranteed annual reservations that a pet friendly timeshare purchase provides. Fortunately, that hotel does offer studio, one and two bedroom condominiums in a complex of the same name. These are not technically time shares but are deeded condominiums which function in a similar manner to time shares when Premier Resorts is contracted to provide the necessary management and rental services.
Pet friendly time shares might be a better bet than traveling without rover in economic terms as well as emotional ones. The savings in boarding fees over the course of an annual two week vacation can be substantial in some regions. Obviously this needs to be weighed against the pet fee at the hotels in question. Some may charge as much as the local vet charges for boarding and this needs to be considered. But generally speaking the purchase of a pet friendly time share can keep these costs under control. The savings garnered from purchasing time share resorts like these can be a few hundred dollars in some cases for a two week vacation. And that’s nothing to sneeze at!
