You and yours have decided to buy a timeshare so that you can ski the American Rockies every Christmas from now on. Everybody is enthusiastic but how do you narrow your search? The Rocky Mountains are a fairly large range and degrees of everything exist within that range. Time share resorts are readily available in this area and just about any requirements in terms of size and amenities can be met here.
For most people there are two crucial considerations in this search: elevation and travel convenience. There are lots of other factors not the least of which are cost, weather and something a little harder to define like the glamour factor. Do good internet homework before going any further. Look at all those 360 degree tours of possible timeshares. These are often available through realtor’s websites. Also check out 3D simulations of places like Aspen made by ICR Designs of Michigan. This is available on You Tube.
But consider elevation and ease of travel above all else. Colorado has the highest mean elevations of all of the 50 United States. If someone is comfortable skiing the Alps he or she may be disappointed with the relatively low ranges around Aspen. He or she may like other factors for instance the housing or entertainment in that area, however. If real skill and accomplished skiing are the buyer’s main personality traits then it’s time to contact a sells rep about timeshares in the Durango, Breckinridge or Telluride area with their 14,000 feet plus elevations.
But a family with non-skiers, especially very young children ,in tow will want to find bunny trails and good ski classes. Lower elevations are much easier to access by the way. The Rockies are as rugged as they are beautiful and driving them is not for the faint of heart especially in winter. And new drivers should just stick to other states with less traffic and lower ranges. There are plenty of options here so do a little homework. Deeded timeshare properties just might turn out to be very good long range investments in some of these areas. Talk to lots of seasoned local time share sells professionals for general advice on the financial aspects.
For the best of all worlds there is some pretty good rule of thumb advice. Stick to major cities. Good airports like the one in Denver will stay open most of the time and make travel into and out of the Rocky Mountains far less of the nightmare that it might otherwise become. But here again use common sense. Always check the weather and see if there are flight delays before heading out. Ask a live person whenever possible for advice on the best time to travel. Often red eye special schedules will be less hectic.
